General: Build Your Self Esteem
Last week we talked about carrying yourself with confidence. Today we’ll highlight some steps to make that happen.
Have you ever been out and spotted a woman your size, or larger, and she is wearing the trendiest outfit ever. Without even flinching, she’s showing off body parts most of us keep hidden. You wonder, not only how she can do it, how on earth is she pulling it off? One word:
Confidence.
When it comes to women like that, you don’t see the number on the scale or the extra roll on the side that mainstream media insists should be hollowed out. What you see instead is a woman who is completely comfortable with herself and because she has no issues with her body, neither should you.
Confidence is a rare trait that few people are born with, but it doesn’t mean you can’t acquire it yourself. Like a muscle, it can be developed. For the month a February, a month that’s dedicated to showing your significant other how much you love them, let’s spend this month loving ourselves. One day a week for the next four weeks we’ll talk about various confidence building techniques for you to practice this year. Take each tip one at a time and work on it until it feels natural before you move onto the next one.
This week’s focus: Self Esteem.
One of the best ways to build your esteem is to remind yourself of past successes. Think back to that one time you wore a killer outfit. How many compliments you received or how good you knew you looked. That alone tells you if you had it in you before, you still have it in you. By remembering that past success, you can use that as a blueprint in the future.
