General: Save, but Beware With Discount Lingerie

Tuesday 6th September 2005

Discount lingerie, while able to save you money, can be a tough market to navigate. Is the discount lingerie actually less expensive? Just because it says it is does that mean it’s really cheaper than the other stores? The truth is that it can be difficult, but there are things you should know so that when you shop for any items at a lower cost you can actually get the best prices available to you.

For one, beware of wholesale claims on available merchandise. It is very unlikely that their discount lingerie is being sold at wholesale. To buy discount lingerie, or any merchandise for that matter, at wholesale you need to have a business license. The manufacturer is the only one who can truly sell wholesale, and the manufacturer sells to distributors and retailers. If a store, whether online or “brick and mortar”, says its wholesale, even if they are a manufacturer, they still have to mark the merchandise up to make any profit. So remember, you are shopping for discount lingerie as a price point. Don’t be fooled by words and phrases like wholesale, distributor, or “rock bottom pricing”.

Secondly, if you are buying discount lingerie to save money, then the only real way to succeed is simply to comparison shop. By definition, discount lingerie is simply lower priced. Start with the discount lingerie of the high end, name brand stores and work through overstock stores, and even on line discount lingerie sites. Finding discount lingerie is about comparison shopping.

Shopping for and buying discount lingerie can be difficult. Wording can be deceiving and you can end up paying more for your find than you would at a regular non-discount retail store. However, with patience and determination you can find discount lingerie and look sexy while still saving yourself a few bucks.
